At Sugal, we strive to help new refugees and immigrants get connected to their new community, earn the education needed to succeed, and receive supporting services that ensure their quick acclimation into American life.

We connect Siouxland refugees and immigrants to opportunities and services that help them integrate into their new community easily and quickly.

We provide regular and special interest classes that ensure newcomers have the education and information needed to succeed.

Regular programs include:
  • Citizenship Classes on Sundays
  • English Classes Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays

Special topic workshops and fairs include:
  • College and continuing education fair with representatives from Northeast Community College and Western Iowa Tech CC (January 14, 2018 at 3pm)
  • Successful entrepreneurship training (planned for 2018)
  • Tax informational workshops
  • Immigration law and other legal updates (as needed)


We help newcomers and Siouxland’s schools, businesses, healthcare providers and governmental organizations work together to achieve common purposes.

Services include:
  • Professional interpreting and translating in many Somali dialects
  • Referrals to other interpreters in Siouxland when needed
  • Certified income tax preparation for individuals
